Apple has announced the dates for its 2010 Worldwide Developers Conference. This year’s event will be held June 7-11, in its traditional venue of Moscone West in San Francisco, CA. As with last year’s event, Apple will be providing sessions focusing on both Mac OS X and iPhone OS X, as well as web app development; although this year’s sessions appear to be more heavily focused on iPhone OS development than in previous years. For the past three years, the company has also used the event’s keynote address as a venue for iPhone-related announcements, revealing the launch date for the original iPhone in 2007, introducing the iPhone 3G at the 2008 event, and unveiling the iPhone 3GS in 2009.

“This year’s WWDC offers developers in-depth sessions and hands-on working labs to learn more about iPhone OS 4, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system,” said Scott Forstall, Apple’s senior vice president of iPhone Software. “WWDC provides a unique opportunity for developers to work side-by-side with Apple engineers and interface designers to make their iPhone and iPad apps even better.”

Apple has finally released their long awaited tablet. Here’s how much it will cost you and when it will be available.

Hardware Costs
The iPad comes in three sizes: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB.

You have the choice of purchasing the device with or without 3G Internet access.

iPad 16GB: $499
iPad 32GB: $599
iPad 64GB: $699

iPad 16GB 3G: $629
iPad 32GB 3G: $729
iPad 64GB 3G: $829

Data Plan Costs
Apple has decided to stick with AT&T despite their network issues. At least this time there is no contract involved, the tablet is fully unlocked, and activation can happen right on the device. Unfortunately, the iPad will use a new micro SIM which will means you won’t be able to insert your iPhone SIM.

$14.99/month – 250MB of data
$29.99/month – Unlimited data

Availability
The Wi-Fi only edition of the iPad will be available in late March worldwide. The Wi-Fi + 3G models of iPad will be available in April in the US and selected countries. iPad will be sold in the US through the Apple Store, Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers. International pricing and worldwide availability will be announced at a later date. iBookstore will be available in the US at launch.

Jobs Says Tablet ‘Will be the Most Important Thing I’ve Ever Done’

Steve Jobs says the upcoming Apple Tablet “will be the most important thing I’ve ever done”, according to TechCrunch.

We haven’t heard this first hand, but we’ve heard it multiple times second and third hand from completely independent sources. Senior Apple execs and friends of Jobs are telling people that he’s about as excited about the upcoming Apple Tablet as he’s ever been. Coming from the man who has created so much, that’s saying something.

Apple is expected to announce a revolutionary tablet device during a special event on January 27th.

Apple has announced a “Come see our latest creation” special event on January 27th. The event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10AM Pacific Time.

It is thought that Apple will use this event to release its much rumored tablet.

What to expect from tomorrow’s Apple event

What could be better? A short workweek, an Apple event tomorrow, and all is right with the world. But what can we expect from Big Cupertino tomorrow and what won’t we see at the event of the summer? Read on.

Now, for the meat:

1. There will be iPods with cameras. The Nano and the Touch should get cameras, we’re not certain on the iPod Classic. The camera is believed to be the 3.2-megapixel model inside the iPhone 3G.
2. There won’t be a tablet. The iPad isn’t ready and this isn’t the event for the iPad launch. This should happen before the holidays.
3. Steve will probably be there. He’s doing OK and this is a good way to rally the troops. He could be a “One more thing” surprise, thereby building the tension and causing an orgasm of fanboi adulation.

Here’s what we can conjecture:

1. A new version of iTunes should appear with some sort of social networking built in along with cloud-based playlists you can share with your friends.
2. The iPods won’t be available immediately due to their complexity. We suspect they’ll be available a few weeks into the future. They’ve done this before, notably with the Touch.
3. There won’t be updates on any other hardware. This isn’t a line show but an iPod show.
4. The iPod Classic could be dead or may not receive an upgrade and still stagger on through the line. The classic is fast becoming a storage device rather than the go-to MP3 player for many.
5. There might be some Beatles stuff.

Here’s what won’t happen:

1. They won’t release iPhone OS 3.1. There’s no reason right now.
2. To reiterate, there will be no iPad
